Litigation Services
At Groen, Kluka & Company, P.C., our Litigation Support Group will work with clients and their attorneys as expert consultants or as independent expert witnesses. Our technical expertise and varied backgrounds enable us to develop interdisciplinary approaches that assist in creating successful litigation strategies.
As an expert consultant, we act as your advocate to pursue those options and strategies that achieve the best bottom-line result. In these engagements we generally would not be called to testify, and documents that are created by our firm may be protected by attorney-client privilege.
As an expert witness, the firm will provide supportable reports and courtroom testimony and are prepared to render independent testimony as to our report and our analysis of other relevant professional reports.
Some of the specific litigation services we provide include:
- Expert witness testimony in connection with the tax issues impacting a matter before the courts.
- Divorce issues-property settlements, alimony, child support, calculation of tax basis for transferred property, forensic accounting and review of tax returns to answer questions about the ownership of entities and property, compensation arrangements, cash flow, retirement plans, etc. of the other spouse.
- Business valuation for purposes of divorce settlements, estate and gift tax, buy-outs, etc.
- Lost revenues as a result of fire, flood or other circumstances.
- Tax ramifications of a loss in compensation.
